Hi, I’m Kate Pymm, I started working within the cosmetics industry 6 years ago where I worked as a make-up consultant for Chanel. After finding I had a natural flair for make-up application I decided to spend 3 years training as a professional make-up artist. The qualifications I have achieved are in Theatrical and Media Make-up, Cosmetic Make-up and Manicure and Beauty Therapy. I have now been working as a freelance make-up artist for the last 2 years.

I work with a number of renowned photographers in the North East including Camera A and Simkiss Photography in Darlington. My work is quite varied from makeover shoots, model portfolios and weddings to prom and party make-up and I have also worked on some local theatrical productions.

I use good quality cosmetics by MAC, Nars, Laura Mercier and Benefit and I also work with a range of Aloe Vera make-up and skincare products. These products are formulated for use by beauty professionals and are suitable for most skin types as they have key antioxidant vitamins, herbs and marine extracts. I also work with a fantastic nutritional cleansing programme (detox) and diet plan, this would be great for brides wanting to shed a few pounds before their big day!

For me, I get great joy from making someone feel good about themselves, to be able to transform someone on a makeover shoot or on the most special day of their life is very rewarding. One of my main strengths is being a good people person and I like to think that I make my clients at ease, confidant and enjoy their make-up experience - especially when their nerves are setting in on their Wedding Day.

I also offer eye treatments such as tinting, brow shaping and false/individual semi-permanent eyelashes.

I do style hair but I am limited to styles, this would depend on how many are required and what kind of style is preferred. We can discuss and swap ideas at your trial. Your trial should take place at least 6 weeks prior to your Wedding Day so that we know exactly what we are doing on the day and the time can be spent solely on your preparation.

I was really impressed with the service all round. Unlike many make-up artists that I phoned, Kate responded to me really quickly, which was much appreciated. The initial consultation was very thorough and I really appreciated that you were prepared to spend as long as it took to achieve the look I was after.

In terms of wedding make up on the day, I couldn't have asked for anything better. The make up looked natural yet it lasted until the early hours of the morning. I was so pleased with the overall look and received so many positive comments about it. You achieved the perfect mix of natural, light looking make-up, but it still looked obvious I was wearing some, which was great for the photographs.

I would recommend your service to anyone for any special occasion, wedding or even if you just want a make-up lesson to learn where you've been going wrong all these years! As a bride I had so much to organise before the wedding. It was a relief to find a make-up artist who was very good at what she did, is a lovely person and whom I trusted.
