Hi, I'm Kate Pymm a professional freelance make-up artist based in the North East of England, I have over 8 years experience within the cosmetics industry and hold qualifications in Cosmetic Make-up, Beauty and Theatrical and Media Make-up. Although I am based in the North East I do find that my work takes me all over the U.K. Whether it's for a Wedding or a make-up shoot I am happy to travel to your preferred venue be it at home or on location.
I use all professional cosmetics by MAC, Bobbi Brown, Nars, Laura Mercier, Chanel and Benefit and many more, along with the make-up I use essential primers that will ensure longevity of your make-up making it last throughout your day and evening. I also work with a range of Aloe Vera make-up and skincare that is suitable for Clients with sensitive skins, this way no one has to miss out on looking their very best for whatever their occasion.
I also offer a range of eye treatments including eyelash tinting, brow shaping and false eye lash application. The lashes I use are all by MAC and are re-useable, very popular with brides as they enhance your final look beautifully.
As well as your make-up application I also style hair. However, I am limited to styles but I find that I can do most styles that are requested. I will also help and advise you on hair and can provide you on request with photographs of previous hairstyles I have done for brides and bridal parties. The hair products I use are professional L'Oreal salon techni art. I also sell a range of unique hand made hair accessories such as tiaras, combs and pins all made with beautiful Swarovski crystals.
I work with a number of renowned photographers in the North East including the award winning Camera A in Darlington. My work is very varied from weddings to makeover shoots, model portfolios to prom and party/event make-up. I constantly keep up with the trends and often attend master classes by MAC and the Saks hair academy.
Please feel free to contact me for prices and availability. In some cases, travel will be charged. A booking form will need to be completed and posted back to me along with the deposit, this will then secure your date and my services. I like to carry out trials 8 - 12 weeks before your big day so please bare this in mind when making your booking. Where possible, I will also come to you for your trial.

On my Wedding Day, Kate was fantastic, my Mam's, 2 Bridesmaid's and my own make-up was applied with great care. My Chief Bridesmaid has a scar on her face and asked Kate if she could hide it, when her make-up was finished my Bridesmaid was amazed that you couldn't see it at all! All of our make-up was applied brilliantly, Kate asked each person what colours they prefer, how much make-up they usually wear and if there were any skin problems. Everybody was really happy with the end results and our make-up was still perfect at 1am the next morning! I will definitely be advising Kate to all my family, friends and colleagues when they need their make-up done. Kate is lovely, very friendly and I will definitely contact her again when I need my make-up done.

Just wanting to thank you for all the work you did applying my make-up on my Wedding Day. It was fantastic and lasted all day. My Bridesmaid and my Mum loved their make-up too. As soon as I read Kate's profile, I felt that she would not only be brilliantly professional but also friendly and easy to get on with. I was right! When I asked her to help me transform into Angelina (Jolie) for the day, she didn't laugh! She made me feel really happy and confident. We went for a neutral look but with a strong eye. I have very difficult skin at the best of times and it is particularly bad at the moment. The make-up trial enabled us to work out which products really suited my skin. Kate also advised me on preparing my skin correctly, so that on the day, I felt flawless! Kate's friendly professionalism really benefited us on the morning of the wedding. She was a calm, happy presence and she made sure that we were ready in plenty of time, despite all the distractions. Both Mum and I felt really self-assured when she had finished. Throughout the day our make-up continued to compliment our skin and stayed fresh. Our hair was fantastic as well; the styles were just perfect and the accessories Kate ordered for me are so very pretty and unusual. We were able to face the cameras with a joyful smile. My husband said he was so happy that I still looked like me ? just enhanced and polished! I cannot thank Kate enough for all her thoughtfulness, advice, talent and good humour. She is just brilliant and I would recommend her to anyone.

I have to say that from the first time I met Kate, I had complete and utter confidence that we would all look stunning on the big day. We all felt so comfortable and at ease with the process.
I was particularly concerned on the day of the Wedding that the bad weather/snow would hinder Kate getting to the venue, but I needn't have worried - as promised, she arrived bang on time and through out that morning Kate was a godsend, even reminding everyone that it was my day and shouldn't I have a glass of bubbly in my hand?, which was soon resolved!
I even had an early evening nap after the Wedding. I removed the false lashes and my contact lenses and propped myself upon a pillow to stop my hair getting ruffled. After an hour and a half I woke up, had a quick shower, put my lenses back in and blotted a little shine on my face, applied a little liner where I had removed my lashes and a slick of lipstick. People couldn't believe that I had been to sleep and neither my hair nor make-up had budged or smudged!
I was pleased that Kate was able to come to both venues, so that I had continuity over both days. I will certainly be recommending Kate's services to all my friends and colleagues and I believe that one of my friends is already considering a make-up lesson for her Wedding next year in Italy.
Kate, I can't thank you enough for your help throughout the planning and the Wedding itself? even with the booking being at quite short notice you bent over backwards at every opportunity to help me take the stress away.

Kate did a fantastic job on everyone's make-up and she was a welcome oasis of calm in the chaos of everyone getting ready. Kate was very good at knowing which colours suited certain colourings, eye colour etc., and knew what would look good in the Wedding Photographs. It was a rest to just sit back and let her work her magic!

I was really impressed with the service all round. Unlike many make-up artists that I phoned, Kate responded to me really quickly, which was much appreciated. The initial consultation was very thorough and I really appreciated that you were prepared to spend as long as it took to achieve the look I was after.
In terms of wedding make up on the day, I couldn't have asked for anything better. The make up looked natural yet it lasted until the early hours of the morning. I was so pleased with the overall look and received so many positive comments about it. You achieved the perfect mix of natural, light looking make-up, but it still looked obvious I was wearing some, which was great for the photographs.
I would recommend your service to anyone for any special occasion, wedding or even if you just want a make-up lesson to learn where you've been going wrong all these years! As a bride I had so much to organise before the wedding. It was a relief to find a make-up artist who was very good at what she did, is a lovely person and whom I trusted.
