Blackwell Grange has a long and fascinating history having been built as a private home by the Allan Family. Building commenced in 1693 and was finally completed in 1717, with the property being passed down through the family until 1953.

Since the purchase of the hotel in September 2006 plans are already underway for the refurbishment of bedrooms and public areas, combining a contemporary feel whilst maintaining the traditional touches.
